　　据今日时报报道，新加坡KK妇女儿童医院和楼宇与建筑局提供了电梯事故趋势，其中包括因为商场数量剧增，与儿童有关的事故数量正在上升。KK医院报告中显示与自动扶梯有关的儿童受伤事故从2012年到2016年增加了一倍有多。因自动扶梯发生的儿童外伤事故数量也相应的增加，从2012年的每10000件事故中，受伤事故发生几率为15.2%，到2016年，已经上升至将近20%。从KK医院提供的数据来看，300宗自动扶梯受伤事故中，有156宗，即超过半数的事故发生在商场中，其中最常见的是在自动扶梯上摔到的事故，其次是困梯事件。楼宇与建筑局称，2016年中有两个月里，将近80%的自动扶梯事故中都有超过60岁的长者受伤。

　　Data about escalator accidents in Singapore from KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) show trends that include an increasing number of accidents involving children as shopping malls multiply, Today reports. KKH reports the number of escalator-related injuries involving children more than doubled from 2012 to 2016, from 35 to 85. The rate of escalator-related trauma cases among children increased correspondingly, from about 15.2% per 10,000 in 2012, to nearly 20% in 2016. More than half — 156 of 300 — escalator injuries seen at KKH happened in shopping malls, with falls the most common cause, followed by entrapment. BCA says that, during a two-month period in 2016, people older than 60 accounted for nearly 80% of escalator accidents.
